An Initiative of Wah Yan One Family Foundation

The Tin Shui Wai (TSW) tutorial project is an initiative of the Wah Yan One Family Foundation, a registered charity in Hong Kong, and led by a group of Wah Yan College Hong Kong 1971 graduates. This project provides under-privileged students in TSW whose families are receiving public assistance with free onsite English tutorial service and free online oral English tutorial service. All tutors are volunteers who are either Wah Yan graduates, their family members or friends of Wah Yan. All of them are degree holders and some have higher degrees or professional qualifications like doctor, lawyer, accountant, etc. Not only will they help students improve their English, they will also share and use their own life experience to improve the self-image and confidence of the students and help plan their future career and life. The latter is particularly important to this group of students who have little support at home and is a compliment to the ‘life planning’ curriculum within their schools.
